Dr Xuyun Zhang

Dr Xuyun Zhang is currently working as a senior lecturer in the School of Computing at Macquarie University in Sydney. He worked as a lecturer at the University of Auckland during 2016 ~ 2019 and a postdoc researcher in the Machine Learning Research Group at NICTA (National ICT Australia, now Data61, CSIRO) during 2014 ~ 2016. He got his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2014, and his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in the same major from Nanjing University in 2011 and 2008, respectively.
His research interests mainly include privacy-preserving big data sharing and mining, secure machine learning and cybersecurity, cloud/edge computing and big data analytics, etc. He has published over 90 refereed academic papers on high-quality and influential conferences and journals in the abovementioned areas, such as IEEE TPDS, TKDE, TC, TSE, TII, JSAC, and ICDE. His research work was well recognised through a New Zealand Royal Society Marsden Fund (Fast Track), and The University of Auckland ECREA (Early-Career Research Excellence Award). He was also a winner of Chancellor's Award for Best Ph.D. Thesis at UTS in 2014, and the prestigious Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Student Abroad in 2012. So far, he has received several external or internal research funds with a total fund over AUD$600K.
